I've been playing with Waldorf dolls again... Oh! Making them, I mean ;)

I'm currently at my art school for more classes; but right before I left, I got a boatload of custom orders, and had to really cram to get everything done before I headed out of state.

It was a fabulous week, though. I enjoy Waldorf sewing.

Got to spend most of it with one of my best friends, as well, whom I almost never see. He found out that I want to play the Irish Tin Whistle, and gave me one. I'm having lots of fun with that :)

But here are a few pictures of my Waldorf escapades...

Aren't both of these to die for?!? She had a Mad Hatter hat, which I loved best, and then she has a "Dapper Hat", which I also love best; but for a cohesive theme, I'll stick with the Alice items :)

Etsy is just so much fun! I'm also working out a trade for a gorgeous little top I fell in love with from another seller. Perhaps I'll blog about it when/if it all works out.

Ok, so I have a love/hate relationship with "stuff". I really, really want to be the perfect Miss Minimalist, but I have an over-abundance of absolutely beautiful things, craft and art supplies, handmade art, and..... I really do like shoes. *blushes*

I would LOVE to be the girl who can pack for a trip to Europe in 15 minutes, neatly stashing everything in a single backpack.

So, I've been a bit of a de-cluttering obsessed freak for about 2 years, now, and never feel like I get anywhere. Then, a recent occurrence in my life left me feeling absolutely couldn't-care-less about, you got it - stuff. I won't go into details, but I'm loving this new freedom to simply do away with all of these unnecessary things, and be freer, lighter, simpler, more beautiful; and do away with the consumeristic tendencies our society is soooo ready to instill in us all.

I've read some fantastic, super helpful books on the subject; books that inspire without making you feel guilty or setting down hard and fast rules. After all, everyone's style is different.

So, I finally managed to tackle my shoes and actually make progress - going from 10 pairs of winter/general use shoes (ridiculous, I know) to 6 (I'm not there yet, but I'm making progress!) Unfortunately, I need to keep my boots and everyday shoes, along with shoes for work... Not sure what I'm going to do to remedy that. My Summer shoes are packed away at the moment, as I only keep out my current season's clothing; but they pretty much just consist of an additional 2-3 pairs of sandals/flip-flops, and I'll tackle them in a bit. Wish I had taken some before and after pictures of my closet....

Hello, blogosphere!

Here I am. I am unique in all the world, and yet I have been dreadfully bored with it all, this week.

"Bored to death with this place, bored to death with my life; bored to death with myself..."
- Charles Dickens, but it could have been me.

So; I decided to use the time to complete some projects which have been weighing on my mind's to-do list for a while, and I feel sooooooo much better now that's out of the way. Plus, an added bonus to that is that I now have time and creative energy to devote to "want-to" projects, rather than just "need-to" projects.

And, I get to break out of this snow covered tundra of a mountain and go to work for the first time since last Saturday. Yay! Wow; I love my day job. lol

Anyways; I have created a new batch of embellished Urban Fae jeans. Take a look and tell me what you think?

I woke this morning to the hush of a snow-covered world, and the excited pitter-patter of little feet looking for permission to explore the depths of those awfully compelling stockings...

Soooooo glad I got to spend Christmas home with my family. There's nothing else quite like the excitement of Christmas morning in a house full of little ones.

With stockings opened and candy eaten, we cooked breakfast together (well.... brunch :), enthusiastic trips to play in the snow, and the rest of the day was spent in lazy enjoyment of time together, exciting new gifts, yet more candy, board-games and books.

So, to all of you: I hope that you spent your Christmas with loved ones, and that it was absolutely beautiful; filled with love and light :)

Today I would like to feature this enchanting ring design from nellyvansee.etsy.com.

I was just reading a fantasy book the other day where the hero was given a puzzle ring and told that if he could solve it, he could keep it. Not until further into the book, as he advanced toward his destiny did he achieve the clear sight needed to solve the riddle, and he wore the ring proudly as a sign of that.

Imagine my surprise and delight to find this beautiful puzzle ring on etsy, and finally understand what I could only imagine before!

I heard the sound of an ice cream truck yesterday...

It's been years since I've had an ice cream from an ice cream truck, so, the fact that I'm not supposed to eat sugar aside, I decided that if the ice cream truck passed by my new apartment I would run out and get one, just like a little kid again!

And so I eagerly awaited. And it never came.

But it was fun to think about, and brought back lovely memories of hot days on the beach during vacation, when my parents would buy an ice cream from the ice cream truck for each and every one of us. Yup, all 9. That's how many there were at the time.

"Make memories", that's what my Mom would say. Even at $3.00 a Bar, x 9.

Featured Elven Design: The Lost Faerie Star - OOAK

Rumour has it that this was the first Fae Star forged for the Empress' daughter, which was lost during her trip to Illirian. No one really knows as it's such an old myth, but it has been found and its magic is yet to unfold upon the one who posseses it.

An iridescent piece blueberry stained glass is framed with an organic and intricate design hand carved out of resin clay and meticulously hand painted, featuring leaves, berries, tendrils and a couple of vintage rhinestones in varying size and shades of purple. Held in the is center a knotted Elven or Fae star with 7 points. The pendant is held by a 'beaten silver' tone nickel-free chain.
